Dr. Sherif Zaher
PsyD. Clinical Psychology, M.S Sports Performance, B.A Psychology.
Dr. Zaher's credentials include a doctorate in clinical psychology, a master's in Kinesiology (sports performance) and a bachelor's in psychology. He has been working over the past decade with numerous top athletes of all ages and from various sports. Some of the notable organizations/programs that have consulted with Dr. Zaher include: Sacramento Republic F.C., CSUS athletics (men's soccer, cross country, track & field, and men's tennis programs), UC Santa Cruz (men's basketball), the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA), and various top notch high schools. In addition, he has been providing his services to world class athletes such as soccer world cup and tennis grand slam participants. Dr. Zaher also provided his expertise in the classroom; teaching sport psychology to college students.
As an undergraduate Dr. Zaher received the prestigious award of being named CSUS Scholar-Athlete of the year, and selected into the Psi-Chi honor society. In the realm of athletics, his major accomplishments include: top 50 ITF (junior world ranking),Wimbledon championships participant, NCAA championship title (University at Georgia), 2-time Big Sky Conference player of the year, #1 national ranking in the over 30's division (USTA doubles ranking), and 6 years of Division 1 head coaching in the sport of Tennis. Dr. Zaher's approach in working with his athletes centers around identifying and committing to act on positive values. He focuses on regulating emotions through improving cognitive functioning and enhancing mindfulness skills. His athletes maximize their potential by developing coping techniques that enable them to make positive changes in their performance. He is currently providing his services to the Sacramento Republic F.C., where he works with notable national as well as international stars.
